School of General Education
The School of General Education provides the professional and pedagogical foundation for all NCE and Degree students in the College. It offers core courses in curriculum studies, educational foundations, psychology, and general studies that are mandatory for all teacher-education programmes.
Departments
Curriculum and Instruction Technology
Develops student understanding of curriculum design, instructional methods, and educational technology.
Educational Foundation and Management
Covers philosophy, sociology, history of education, and educational administration.
Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling
Equips students with knowledge of learning theories, child psychology, and counseling skills.
General Studies Education (GSE)
Provides foundational courses in communication, Nigeria studies, and use of English — mandatory for all students.
Role in the College
Unlike other schools, the School of General Education serves all schools in the College by providing professional and general education courses. Its courses are a requirement for graduation for all NCE and Degree students.
